Carl Swart

Carl Swart has spent the last decade in Eugene, where he earned his MFA in Poetry from the University of Oregon, though he is originally from Oklahoma. His poetry focuses on those intersecting landscapes, family, identity, unwatched and uncultivated spaces, and scenes of urban clockwork that decay and spill into silent wilderness. His writing has most recently appeared in Fogged Clarity, Redivider, and Windmill. He does development work to benefit those in Lane County who are unhoused, underserved, or living beneath the poverty line.
